Thousands of Android Users Fooled Fake Market

Thousands of Android users suspected to be a victim of fraud in the form of fake application called the Android Market Express Play.

This was stated by Joji Hamada, Symantec Security Response team. According to data collected team, there were 3,000 more visits to a false market named Android Express Play only within a period of one week.

Malware which they dubbed Exprespam, which spreads from the market, is estimated to have stolen personal data as much as 75-450 thousand.

Fraud is mentioned new unknown for two weeks. Hamada worry, this is just the beginning, and the data collected will grow several-fold over time.

Hamada also reported a new domain name that has been purchased actors and a new version of their fake application market.

To avoid this kind of fraud, Android users are asked to avoid visits to the link contained in the email did not recognize.

Before Android Express Play, fraud perpetrators are using the name Gcogle Play to market their fake applications.
